![]() Returned vehicle to dealership on 8/4/21. No speedometer, no odometer, no gears, nothing. On 8/3/21 the control screen stopped working. The 2022 Nissan Pathfinder Platinum VIN 5N1DR3DK8NC200906 is a lemon. Traded my 2017 Nissan Maxima on 7/21/21 to purchase a 2022 Nissan Pathfinder Platinum. Roll and body motions are very controlled. All-wheel drive doesn't make the Pathfinder buck. With stability control on, the Pathfinder was a bit more work to wrangle. The steering is a bit on the heavy side, but it gives you a good sense of the size and what the nose is doing. ![]() The nose will gently and predictably push at the limit, and it's easy to just hold the throttle steady to keep it tucked in. The Pathfinder feels smooth and stable, even with stability control disabled. 0.86 g is pretty good for a three-row crossover and 0.03 g better than the Telluride. Handling: Nissan really nailed the chassis tuning here. At least there was no notable fade on the straight or on the track. Initial bite feels like you're stepping on an air pump. It goes from soft to stiff pretty quickly. That said, stops were straight and dead consistent. There's a lot of brake dive, so the rear can feel light and like it's wiggling. Braking: Again, the Pathfinder was just a hair off the Telluride, but I didn't totally love the way the Nissan felt under full braking. Sport mode doesn't make a difference at full throttle, and the engine only lets you rev to 1,500 rpm while brake torquing, which is no real help off the line. The run using default settings ended up being the quickest. There's decent enough low- and mid-range power. Trap speed compared to the Telluride was a few mph slower. Even with all the aids on, there's a hint of front wheelspin before the all-wheel drive sorts things out. Nail the gas and the Pathfinder gets going with zero hesitation. The new nine-speed is a much better match for Nissan's V6 than the old CVT automatic. Both the 0-60 and quarter-mile figures were just 0.2 second off the Kia Telluride.
